A Message below from Nationals
Kappa Delta has long been known for its commitment to helping those less fortunate, so on the heels of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, it comes as no surprise that members are asking, “What can I do to help?” At this time, Kappa Delta encourages members to support those immediate-relief organizations that are currently operating in Haiti to provide medical care, food, water and housing. The online Network for Good, www.networkforgood.org, offers links for individuals to make donations to a variety of charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross, CARE, Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health, UNICEF and more.
After other recent natural disasters, KDs have rallied to support the KiDs Need to be Kids effort to provide toys, books and games for the youngest victims of these disasters. While the sorority believes strongly in this program, we also recognize the more urgent needs faced by Haiti’s citizens. The sorority will consider the need for the KiDs Need to be Kids campaign once health care and living conditions improve in Haiti; until then, Kappa Deltas are encouraged to support the relief efforts of their choice.
